Joy is the basic spirit of dance and beauty is the spell it casts upon us. A joyous dancer looks more beautiful than s/he otherwise is. Beauty is not static. It is more in action than appearance. A dancing body manifests it. A dancer not only looks more beautiful than otherwise s/he looks but also exudes a beautiful harmony. Beauty in the dancing process assume new dimensions of it with every movement of dance as the dancer performs it.
The basic spirit-of-dance is that of enjoying being in body by the living being it lives in.
See a Peacock when it goes into the dancing mode it also enjoys its 'being' so vividly. Humans have a superior body mind system compare to any species so does its dancing flights are. When the joy surges up in heart it shows its storm by its joy waves that send body whirling to its tunes like the Earth whirling around the Sun.
This whirl is with a harmony, in a rhythm.
And then the movements or actions it does are in rhythm with the music that the joyous passion is playing inside.
In dance the body and mind are in perfect sync, kind of resonated pulses are oscillating between the two.
In a dancing session, movements of dance are inducing the energy level of mind and at the same time mind stimulate body for a new movement breaking free and redefining the 3D space which it lives in.
Even in its such a flexible dynamics it has a great subtlety.
But the joy within that plays the playful music there takes care of this subtlety with such an ease that these dancing steps appears as an automaton phenomenon to the viewer.
These wonderful steps not only ushers the joy in the heart of a dancing body but is also so powerful in its contagious effect and communicating competence that it assimilate the viewer in its rhythm and spell.
If the dancer misses the joy it misses the rhythm and viewer, who was a passive dancer, too turns a mechanical spectator.
In nature, male of some bird species dance to their best to attract female in the mating period.
humans also have this sensual-dance which has erotic moves in it.
Spiritually dance is deemed to be a way to become one with oneself as well with the whole existence. Human body has one unique dimension i.e. face & more specificly the eyes in it that makes its dance more sensitive and subtle. The eyes when dances to the tunes of passion body is dancing to, create such a magical spell that everyone around is mesmerized. Look at those dancing eyes, every moment eyelids open to a different size, those eyeballs implying to a different angle and with different energy level of emotion flow. That makes heartbeat of every one around goes thumping high. We on earth dance in different parts of it in different ways but with the same human spirit so we have different forms of it. There it is as a community-dance,tribal-dance, duit or solo-dance. Mankind has also developed it as a form of entertaining medium so are there many dancing stars in every country.
So fusion of dances are also there. Broadly we know them by three categories- Classical, Folk and Contemporary. No matter of what form or kind it is, it goes bereft of its beauty if it misses this spirit in it.
Folk-dances are rich in this spirit though they are simple in their technicality than the classical ones. Dance is also a medium of drametic display of mythological stories in many cultures. So let's dance, together or on our own, on this dancing planet around its axis as well around the Sun. We will dance to the tunes of all these joyous expressions of human body mind system called dances that are there on this Earth.
