Whether this one is sophisticated, raw, weird, wild, urban or rural one depends upon the social strata we fall in. This cultural thing is there everywhere pervaded in the width and depth of human life in different cultural codes Cultural codes include manners, dress, language, religion, rituals, norms of behavior such as law and morality, and systems of belief as well as the law and gastronomy. It is there everywhere in visible or latent forms. We can see it as continuity there in every walk of our life. We need not a scholar degree to see it. We just need seeing it. Just seeing with insightful eyes! Man being a social animal makes society and every society makes its own ways of living patterns for life. If man is a social animal is a true saying, so does his living under some or other cultural influence goes inevitable. And it has always been there on earth whether in the form of ancient-culture or modern one. A culture too takes on different cultural shades as different human groups out of a society makes several sub groups or different sub societies. So social class and individual interests form different sub-cultures. So cultural canvas is as vast as that of life And like life it has both good and bad; beauty and ugliness. Ugliness is there because of the rigid dogmatic nature that more or less every culture carry along. Beauty in different cultures is the knowledge and artistic space it opens for us out of the past human history. It is the outcome of past life lived by our ancestors on this planet. This is the essence of experience which they passed through in their life and their wisdom and will to share their knowledge with the successor generation in every sphere of life in different parts of the world. Yes it make a great difference not only in the thinking patterns of mind but also in very much physical ways. As you can see the difference in the vocal systems of people from different cultural regions. Even the physical build up of body is affected by it. The conservative-cultures not only narrow the minds but physically make the people there to keep their muscles contracted. The following generations need not putting their efforts to learn everything from scratch. They just need imbibing it culturally. All the knowledge body on earth this way, whether it is scientific, artistic or any of other sorts of life knowledge is there stored in our psyche nothing but culturally. Like earth revolves around the sun is our scientific cultural perception. The same way ballet or jazz or any other classical dance is also a knowledge we inherit as our artistic cultural perception. Knowledge once got becomes a part of our cultural perception. The next generation has to just imbibe it rather than discover it. We make that knowledge body as integral part of our day to day life. This way human-culture has been growing from hunter and gatherer to today’s hi-tech metropolitans. But this doesn’t mean that everything we inherit as culture from our predecessors is beautiful or good. Making it as faith may be even harmful as it may be mistakenly wrong judged knowledge in the past or wrongly interpreted while passing from one generation to the next. And it has happened there in the past of human history. We all know that for thousands of years two misconceptions fooled humanity as it was in the perception of humanity that the sun revolves around the earth and a heavy stone dropped from a height will reach sooner in time on earth rather than a light one dropped from the same height. We need using our discretion for the cultural perceptions carefully and throw away the ills from them keeping only the beauty of it with us. Ills are also conveyed culturally and they remain a part of every of human psyche for the whole generation making mankind foolish and petty, leaving behind a bitter taste of life. Like man discriminating man on the ground of color of skin, jingoism for one piece of earth in the name of nationality, religious fastidiousness in the name of one version of God against other concept of God and on and on… Many a superstitions like sacrificing animals are still observed in many part of earth. Racial apartheid is but an ill cultural perception. Otherwise this beautiful boon turns into a curse in disguise. We distinguish cultures in different part of the world in different ways. Generally they are distinguished from others by the nations or regions where it is practiced in, like we have Chinese-culture, Japanese-culture, Italian-culture, Mexican-culture, French-culture, German-culture, native American-culture and so on… Or they are based on religions like Jewish-culture, Muslim-culture and Hindu-culture. Globalization has brought them close and created a conducive environment for a new World-culture. They are there in a bit off beat way too like- culture-club, culture-beat, candela-culture, hip hop-culture, hippie-culture, Ibo-culture, organizational-culture, pop-culture, Navajo-culture, el Salvador-culture, remix-culture, bad-culture etc. We should take some time out and see the gems of culture born out of the search for beauty by our senior batch of humanity on earth that we always take for granted as it was an easy gain for us. And relish this recipe so rich in cultural diversity served in this plate of world-culture and have the joy of life in all possible ways humanity has tasted till date.
